The Role: Quality Control Lead

The Quality Control Lead is responsible for managing all aspects of the Quality Control laboratories at the Jamshoro site. This includes overseeing the testing of raw materials, packaging materials, finished products, and microbiological samples. The role is essential to ensuring compliance with Haleon’s Quality Management System (QMS), current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), and all applicable local and international regulations.

This is a strategic and hands-on role that directly impacts product quality, patient safety, and operational excellence. It’s perfect for a leader who is proactive, detail-oriented, and ready to take on the challenge of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all QC laboratory operations including analytical, microbiological, and packaging material testing.

  • Ensure full compliance with cGMP, Haleon QMS, ICH, ISO, and other regulatory standards.

  • Manage and optimize workflow and lab efficiency through innovative practices and technologies.

  • Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Key Quality Indicators (KQIs) to assess and improve lab performance.

  • Support internal and external audits, including health authority inspections.

  • Lead investigations (e.g., Out of Specification, Out of Expectation results) and drive timely resolutions.

  • Establish and nurture a high-performing, well-trained, and motivated team.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to enhance overall site quality and production outcomes.

  • Drive continuous improvement through data analysis and best practice implementation.

  • Develop annual departmental goals aligned with global quality and site business objectives.

Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Background: MSc or Pharm D in Chemistry, Microbiology, or Pharmacy.

  • Experience: 10-15 years of relevant experience in Quality Control or Quality Assurance within the pharmaceutical or consumer healthcare industry.

  • Technical Skills: Proficient in analytical techniques, method validation, and laboratory equipment.

  • Soft Skills: Strong planning, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead teams, manage projects, and drive performance.

  • Adaptability: Ability to work independently, handle multiple projects, and thrive under pressure.

  • IT Skills: Comfortable with digital tools and quality data management systems.
